And a good one it is. The current issue of
Kirkus has a starred
review of my upcoming novel. Unfortunately, it's behind a subscription wall, so most of you probably won't be able to read it. Which is probably for the better because it contains spoilers. So don't read it. Anyway, January 20, 2009, is a doubly auspicious date; not only will my book be released on that day, but a new president of the United States will be inaugurated. It's still unknown who that will be, but one thing we know for sure,
it won't be Bush.

Do you have any idea when (and if) will paperback edition be published? It's not that I mind buying hardcover (matter of fact, I already preordered it), but I have the first novel in paperback form and would love to have them consistent... On the other hand, I couldn't wait for it too long ;)
Hey, thanks for pre-ordering. I believe that a healthy pre-order increases the initial press run, which is probably being calculated about now.
The standard interval between a Tor hardback and paperback release is one year. In the case of Counting Heads, however, it was two years. I don't know why that was or what the marketing dept will deal me this time.
Hardback it is, then :)
<--- Eagerly waiting to complete my Marusek set. ;)
Excellent cover!

Hi David,
Congrats on your new book. I'm excited to see how everything turns our for Fred and Mary and the rest of them.
I didn't think to preorder, but I will now.
