My amazing daughter, Kalina, has been visiting Fairbanks with her boyfriend, Ronan. (I'm the one on the left.) She's just finished doing a law intern at the U.N. in NYC and is on her way to a month-long institute in Rome before returning to UW Law School to finish her final year. Whew! Ronan is a producer for and co-owner of All Day Buffet, a film production studio in Manhattan.

I didn't know blogs could be spammed. Or am I missing something here?
::sigh:: I didn't know blogs could be spammed, either.
Kalina certainly is gorgeous.
Anything can be spammed, including us. Blogger has a word verification tool for the comment feature, similar to the warped word you must retype when ordering things on line, and I'll turn that on if this spam becomes a problem.
In the meantime, looking at the clothes we're wearing in this photo, you can tell the season has already turned to Fall here in the far North.
We're having a few rainy, cool days in our part of the world, too.
Greetings to those on Yankovich, sure miss the beauty of the land around Fairbanks. Hope the smoke has all cleared out.
The smoke lingered for about ten days, along with unseasonal heat (80 degrees!). The particulate level in the air rose above the 250 mg/cubic meter hazard threshold by a factor of two and three for most of the time, and the local hospital opened a breathing respite center. During one night, the level rose above 1000 and clogged the testing instruments.
Pretty much all that time I stayed indoors next to my Honeywell HEPA air filter.
Weather's back to normal now, wet and cold.
